Launch Team 5K/10K
The Salt Lake Launch Team is excited to announce the second annual 5K/10K 80's Run down Emigration Canyon in Salt Lake City on Sept. 5, 2020. Come dressed in your favorite 80's attire and flashback to the past as you run to help The Launch Team, whose mission is to get youth running.
All runners will get an 80's themed t-shirt and medal and the best dressed 80's runners will win some special prizes in our costume contest!
This event is open to everyone. Our Launch Team youth will also be running it. The timing of this event makes it a perfect training run for the Launch Team youth preparing for a fall half marathon. Please join us for this incredibly fast and beautiful 5K/10K and support our mission.
This race is also FAST. Running down Emigration Canyon is also beautiful. A downhill 5K/10K? YES! What can be better?
- Date and Time: 6:30am on Sept. 5, 2020.
- Bus Loading: Park in the parking lot across from Hogle Zoo for bus loading between 5:15am and 5:45am. Don't be late.
- Packet Pickup will be at TOSH - The Orepedic Speciality Hospital (5848 S 300 E, Murray, UT 84107) from 4-8pm on Friday, August 2, 2019. You can have someone else pick up your packet for you if you give them written consent (a text is sufficient).
What you get
- Timed 5K/10K
- Medal when you cross the finish line.
- Two aid stations on the course.
- Free race day photos.
This is a downhill 5K and 10K. As such, we will be busing you from the finish line to the start line. Buses will leave the finish line as they fill up between 5:15am and 5:45am. Your bib is your ticket to get on the bus. Do not be late or you will not be able to run.
This race is chip timed. On the back of your bib will be a timing tag. Please do not remove it or bend it or otherwise tamper with your timing tag. Your time will start when you cross the start line and end when you cross the finish line. Age division placement will be based on chip time. Overall winners will be based on gun time.
There will be two aid stations on the course. One is at the start of the 5K and one is at mile 1.5 of the 5K. So the 10K will see an aid station at mile 3.1 and mile 4.6.
Park in the Hogle Zoo overflow lot across the street from the zoo and next to This Is The Place Monument Parking.
Because we will need to reserve buses based on number of participants signed up, there will only be limited onsite registration. Please sign up in advance.
There will be photographer(s) on the course. Please make sure your bib number is visible and attached to your front so that we can sort the photos to you. Photos are provided free of charge.
